Skylark Winter Wonderland

Is it just me or has winter suddenly arrived? Not only have the clocks gone back making our evenings draw in earlier but we have had a few mornings where we have woken to a frosty white glaze over the farm and without doubt there is a chill in the air which can only mean one thing ….. Christmas is coming.
So with just a few weeks to go until the festive season is in full swing, we are embracing the frosty mornings and looking forward to hosting some winter weddings at Skylarks with all the rich seasonal colours, hopefully a sprinkling of the white stuff and our very own reindeer all of which makes this a great season for weddings at Skylarks.
Only a month ago I was sitting outside drafting the October blog and admiring the autumn views from our wedding barn veranda, and since that last blog we have had a number of exciting moments here at Skylarks starting with the publication of our new glossy brochure which we are immensely proud of, a copy of this will be given to all couples considering Skylarks for their special day.
Over the last couple weeks we have taken delivery of our first few glamping pods and it won’t be long now before we begin to take bookings. I can’t wait to start adding a few personal touches to make each pod a sumptuously unique and exclusive alternative to the usual hotel accommodation, I am hoping that by the time our next wedding fayre comes around on 25th March that we can show them off.
Talking of wedding fayres, we had our most successful wedding fayre and open day to date last month with over 250 visiting brides and grooms, the day was amazing. Our exhibitor’s displays were stunning and we had everything from Cakes to Stationery and Wedding Attire to High End Men’s Footwear. Outside we had Mobile Bars, Marquees and Vehicles.
Our prize draw of a holiday for two in Cyprus was won by Victoria Stanley so congratulations to her, it’s a lovely gold crown apartment near Paphos so I am sure Victoria and her husband to be will have an amazing time.
Not wedding related but, I really have to mention that our beautiful farm was turned into a Zombie Apocalypse for 4 days over Halloween with our very own Zombie bride in attendance, it was hugely successful for a first year event and so we will be holding another similar event next Halloween.
So what’s next? Skylarks are continuing to add more to our wedding options, already we have Candy Carts, Fire Pits, Selfie Frames and Props – if you are planning a wedding with us, just ask if there is something you would like at your special day – I am pretty sure we may have it already if not, we definitely will know someone who does.
