Autumn at Skylarks

I had started to write a blog about all the amazing additions to our wedding venue and all the wonderful weddings we have had here over the summer, but sitting here on the veranda with my hot chocolate, marshmallows and cocoa powder watching the sun go down has, I admit distracted me slightly.
I think I may have mentioned before how much we love it here, and how we love our views. Every season has its merits and it’s hard to choose a favourite time of the year, but if I had to Autumn would be right up there.
Our woods are glowing at the moment in red, gold and orange. Almost like they are on fire, and then to add to the warm fuzzy feeling I get when I look out over the hills, we have nights where the sunset is just breath taking, adding purple and pink hues to the woods autumnal glow.
It's at times like this that you appreciate how magical Skylarks Farm is as a wedding venue, and just how much we are looking forward to hosting our October Brides and Grooms special day.
Looking back over the summer we have met some amazing couples, who have had some fabulous weddings with every kind of entertainment from an Abba tribute band to a boxing ring, we even had a professional rugby player in attendance at one wedding, leaving my rugby mad husband and sons a bit star struck.
Each wedding for us is as exciting as the one before, and even though the blanket box has made an appearance to ward off those chilly autumn breezes, the welcome at Skylarks is still as warm as ever.
We love meeting new couples and listening to their ideas for their special day, it makes it as exciting for us as it is for them. So now we have our autumn couples to look forward to, I personally can't wait to host their special day, meet their families and friends, and check out the dresses and entertainment.
Don't get me wrong, it’s not all frills and frocks, the wedding team work really hard to ensure the day runs smoothly and everything is perfectly placed. It's just that I don't think I would enjoy any other job more than I do this one, our wedding team is amazing and without them and our couples it wouldn't be half as much fun.
