Food Glorious Food!

1st July 2018

We have been so blessed with the weather throughout June, the sun shone and all our couples got to enjoy being outside with the backdrop of the glorious Northamptonshire countryside. Some amazing memories were made and outstanding photos taken that our couples will hopefully have a lifetime together to look back on and enjoy. Repeatedly we have wondered at the stunning sunsets, sometimes we at Skylark like to stop and take a minute to enjoy the magic of that special day too. That’s what makes our job so rewarding.

It looks like the hot summer days are continuing into July. However the heat isn’t slowing us down here at Skylark, and our wedding season is in full swing marrying lots of lovely couples at our fabulous venue.

We had an Open Day on the 30th June which was such a success that we are having another one on the 29th July 12pm-3pm, if you’re looking for a venue make sure you come down to see us and some of our trusted suppliers! These Open Days give couples the chance to see Skylark set up for a wedding. We have a great team here so come along and have a chat.

In this month’s blog post I thought I would look at some of the current food trends hitting the world of weddings!  We employ our own chefs here at Skylark so we can offer you a truly individual dining experience. No need for outside caterers or third parties we can offer you an inhouse service of high quality and at competitive prices. Why not consider some of these ideas

Dessert Tables:

Dessert tables for guests to help themselves have become increasingly popular, with couples choosing to ditch the traditional sit down three courses and go for self service offering a range of desserts in a buffet setting. Having a dessert table means you can have a range of choices for your guests and aren’t limited to one or two. Guests can decide what they’d like on the day and not having to make choices months before hand. Displays of desserts can look amazing visually as well as being a delight to taste. Nothing is stopping you from having a doughnut wall, Ferrero Rocher tower or some churros, the choice is completely up to you!

Getting Personal:

Couples are deciding to cater their menu to their experiences together to make their wedding unique and personal. For example, taking inspiration for part or whole of their wedding breakfast from their favourite meal, first date, or if they had a fond memory of a holiday. We have had couples who have special memories of Italy and have served pizza cooked in our pizza ovens for their evening buffet.  A personalised menu is a great way for couples to show their character or share the journey of their love story with all their guests.

Meatless Menus:

Gone are the days where vegetarian foods at weddings are an after thought. Some couples are choosing to ditch the meat completely with vegetarian or vegan wedding breakfasts becoming increasingly popular and being the only option on the menu.  We can understand why with the choice for vegetarian food being so varied now!

That’s all from us this month, it’ll be exciting to see what July brings and what food our talented chefs will be creating!
